Rep. Price Statement on House’s Vote Outlining Public Phase of Impeachment Inquiry
WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 31, 2019) – Today, October 31, 2019, Congressman David Price (D-NC), issued the following statement on today’s vote of the United States House of Representatives, outlining the next phase of the impeachment inquiry:
“It’s the House’s solemn responsibility to continue with this impeachment inquiry as new and unnerving evidence is revealed seemingly every day. It’s increasingly apparent that the President of the United States abused the power of the presidency for personal political gain by demanding that a foreign leader investigate his domestic political rival, and then moved to cover it up.
“Instead of defending the President on the substance and merits, Republicans in Congress complain about the process and it’s clear why: The President’s actions are indefensible.
“Today, the House of Representatives approved a measure to lay out the next public phase of the inquiry, reinforcing our commitment to transparency and due process. In the face of the President’s continued stonewalling of a legitimate impeachment inquiry, I am committed to working with my colleagues to uncover the full truth and lay it before the American people.
