WASHINGTON, DC (January 15, 2021) – Today, Congressman David Price (NC-04), Chairman of the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, released a statement on the nomination of House Appropriations Committee Staff Director Shalanda Young to serve as Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget in the Biden administration:

“Shalanda Young is one of the hardest working and brightest staffers I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with during my time in the House,” said Congressman David Price. “I have witnessed the depth of her knowledge and her dedication to the appropriations process firsthand – starting with her initial role as a detailee to the Homeland Security Subcommittee during my chairmanship and at each subsequent stage of her career, culminating with her service as the full committee’s Staff Director and Chief Clerk.

“I have always valued her counsel and steadfast leadership and she has served with distinction during one of the most consequential times in the history of the Appropriations Committee, helping to negotiate several multi-year budget agreements and shepherding trillions of dollars of critical relief to the American people struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Shalanda will be a tremendous asset to OMB and the Biden-Harris Administration as we Build Back Better.”
