PRICE STATEMENT ON THE CONTINUING RESOLUTION
Washington, D.C.– Today, the House of Representatives voted 319-108 to pass a continuing resolution (CR), which will fund the government at current levels through December 11. The CR includes an extension of operating authority for the Export-Import Bank, $88 million in emergency funding to combat the Ebola Virus outbreak in West Africa, and the authority to train and equip Syrian opposition forces engaged in fighting ISIL. Representative David Price (NC-04), Ranking Member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, released the following statement.
“This continuing resolution offers yet another instance of Republican intransigence standing in the way of serious budgeting and a responsible appropriations process. Thanks to the hard work of House Appropriations Committee Members from both parties, the vast majority of FY2015 Appropriations bills have been written and reported. Unfortunately, political considerations have once again gotten the better of House Republican leaders, who have decided not to require their rank-and-file to consider these bills before November. I am hopeful that the hard work of the Appropriations Committee will be completed and compiled into an omnibus bill soon after the election.”
