RALEIGH (WTVD) -- It is the last weekend to sign up for President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act. The deadline to enroll is Monday.

Democratic Congressman David Price held a health fair in Raleigh to help people apply, but that was not the only reason folks were lining up to get inside.

Many people packed the Salvation Army center for hours Saturday for free health care screenings and preventative care.

Pearl Galloway says she has a challenge not covered by her veteran's benefits.

"I know how important it is to have my dental work done. So I'm here to be more healthy. I want to be a healthy vet!" Galloway said.

Volunteers from Wake Smiles provided the dental care. There were also blood pressure screenings available, mammograms, and more.

"Most people probably put it off because of the cost. That's why we push Affordable Care, enactment of that act, because it would allow people access to care they wouldn't get any other way," said Johnny Williams, with Old North State Medical Society.

Apart from hosting the health fair, Price arranged for Affordable Care Act enrollment opportunities and counseling at the event.

Those interested in signing up for the Affordable Care Act still have until Monday to get it done online, which is the deadline for everyone to get covered, if they qualify.

"I've just seen people so grateful to have this, and to have access to care," Williams said.

However, critics still insist the Affordable Care Act is bad for America.
