New Year's Greetings from the 114th Congress
I am honored to return to Washington to represent North Carolina’s Fourth District in the 114th Congress. I am hopeful that my colleagues – both new and old – will find ways to bridge the partisan divide and make progress on the pressing challenges that we face as a nation.
As we begin the new Congress, I am happy to announce that you can keep in touch with me in several new ways. You can now follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Tumblr. As always, you can also email me or contact any of my offices with specific concerns or to ask for help with government agencies like the VA or Social Security Administration.
I plan to introduce several important bills in the coming months that will help stem the outsize influence of money in politics, provide transparency in college sports programs, and require new safety measures for aircraft to prevent disasters like the AirAsia crash and the Malaysia Airlines disappearance. As a senior member of the Appropriations Committee, I will also work to protect funding for Fourth District priorities, including transportation, education, infrastructure, research, and veterans programs.
I am very proud to serve you in Congress, and I hope you will let me know if you have any suggestions for how I can better represent the Fourth District.
