Inauguration Request Form
Thank you for contacting my office to request tickets to the Inaugural Swearing-In Ceremony on January 20, 2009.
As you may know, the Swearing-In ceremony takes place at the U.S. Capitol, and the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies is in charge of planning the event and setting attendance policies. The Committee typically allocates a small number of tickets to each member of Congress to distribute to constituents who wish to attend, but my office will not know how many tickets we have to distribute until early January.
In the meantime, my staff is compiling the names and contact information of all Fourth District residents who wish to attend the inauguration. Please submit your information below to be added to this list. Due to the extremely high volume of requests, we cannot guarantee tickets to anyone.
Unfortunately, our office has received reports of individuals or organizations claiming to offer Inauguration ceremony tickets to those willing to pay for them, often including travel and lodging costs in the fee. Constituents should be advised that no one claiming to have tickets, including those for sale, is actually in possession of tickets, as none have been distributed. More information about the Inaugural ticket distribution can be found at http://majorityleader.gov/docuploads/Finalticketrelease.pdf. Additionally, the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies’ website can be found at http://inaugural.senate.gov/index.cfm.
I hope this information is helpful. If you have additional questions, please contact my office at (202) 225-1784.
